Nov. 27th Un-stuffing Ride Wrap Up

The Un-stuffing Ride is in the books.

imageThe ride started with a perfectly planned photo shoot. Thanks  Judy.  After gathering ourselves, we headed out of town on Legion Road.  As we left Danville, we were accompanied by the Holiday Train heading toward Catawissa.  Danville is a railroad town, so the rails run along the roads in many areas.  The clicking of the wheels and the sight of the train bobbing along its path as we pedaled beside it was a great unplanned addition to our 30 miler.

We made our way through Rupert via the covered bridge then on to Bloom Town Park via the newly paved park road.  After crossing through Bloom, we headed out to Quarry Road for a little climbing and a pretty awesome view of the valley.  We ended up doing half of Grovania (for those that participated in the Two Sides of the River Ride).  Then, we rejoined Legion Road for the ride back to Danville.  Marie agreed that two hills were better than four.

It’s hard to beat 60+ degree rides on November.  Of course the calorie burn was especially welcome after we all stuffed ourselves the day before.  But, when we returned home, Judy greeted us with a plateful of homemade peanut butter and chocolate fudge.  None of us refused of course.

Thanks Marie and Fran for the conversation, laughs and the ride.  Till next ride, have a great weekend all.
