Wallis Run to Barbours April 9th
(Because of the impending Spring Snow, this ride has been cancelled and will be rescheduled for date later on during the Summer. Sorry, the weather next weekend looks better for riding.)
I have it on good authority that Spring like weather will eventually arrive. Right now Saturday’s weather looks OK so Mike Boyle will be leading an early season ride at 10AM leaving from the Loyalsock Valley Elementary School on Route 87. After a little more than 1 mile, the route turns left on Route 973 then right onto Wallis Run Road. The rest of the course follows the creek , a gentle grade up to the crest of the hill at Chapman Road and then down the road to Barbours. The return trip is usually nice with the gradual downhill making a quick descent enjoyable. It is an out and back course, so it is easy to shorten the course for those of you who have not been riding so much (with all this recent rain). THe full course Mike has planned is 32 miles. We also get a chance to past one of the prettiest farm settings around. Dont’ be surprised if you want to stop and take a picture at the stop sign. There are outhouses about 100 feet from the stop sign on the right. Here is the ridewith gps link.
