Pennsdale Green Valley Ride 4/30/2016 10AM
This Saturday meet us at 10 AM sharp at the Pennsdale Fire Company parking lot for the early season version of the Green Valley ride. The ride starts in Pennsdale and skims through Hughesville for a short jaunt on Route 118 to a nice very gradual ride up Green Valley Road through some really nice wooded country side with very few cars.Once we turn onto Green Valley Road, there is a short uphill and then a long winding downhill that is worth the climb. The rest of the ride is relatively flat back through the the Pennsdale countryside. The main course is 25 miles and the pace should be in the 13 to 15 MPH range. There are a couple of add ons for more ambitious riders. There is an out and back excursion past Beaver Lake that I usually include in the later season ride and the hilly loop up Route 864 (past my house) for those who want a couple more hills before returning to Pennsdale. Both the Prez and First Lady should leading this ride. If you have any questions, I can be contacted by email at mdhnatin@verizon.net or text me at 570-279-1089.

12 riders showed up this morning with 4 new people joining. It was a gray day with cloudy skies and temperatures in the high 50s so lots of people wore their windbreakers and tights. After the climb up Green Valley and the first little hill on Beaver Lake Road we all did the twisty descent down Mount Zion Road. After we caught our breath, the group split into the flat way back and the more hilly way back via Route 864.
